About the artist Ruud van Unen

Welcome to my passion for painting and Drawing animals and Wildlife.

I was born in 1957 in artists family in the Netherlands. So it wasn't strange that was drawing a lot in my childhood. But also in my childhood I develloped a fascination for animals.

But it lasted until the late nineties that I combined both elements in a career as a professional animal artist.
At first I became well known in the Netherlands for my soft-pastel portraits, but nowadays I make a living also with painting Wildlife portraits, pet portraits in commission and by giving workshop and online courses.
